Time Off
GQC Policy for full time employees
3 days off a year for sick time.
Employees generate vacation time based time working at the GQC.
The Vacation time does not end at the calender year. Vacation time can expire
one year after it is acquired but Sudhir will explain the rules and be flexible
if needed.
Holdiays
GQC gets most federal holdiays off. We also are allowed 2 floating holidays a year (details below).
A full list of all of the holidays we get off are:
- New Year's Day
- Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.*
- Washington’s Birthday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Indigenous Peoples' Day (formerly Columbus Day)*
- Veterans Day*
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
There are 3 floating holidays that can either be taken as holidays or used for another day. If you work during a floating holiday, then you can apply that holiday to another day during the year. For example, Melissa likes to work for 2 of the 3 floating holidays so that she can move them to the days after Thanksgiving and Christmas without using vacation time. If this is unclear speak to Melissa or Sudhir.
The floating holidays are:
- Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. (January)
- Indigenous Peoples' Day (formerly Columbus Day) (October)
- Veterans Day (November)
